Hi, I’m Matthew Rice. I’m a film student with a strong

passion for cinematography and storytelling. As I dive

deeper into my studies, I’m dedicated to mastering the

craft of visual storytelling and capturing moments that

resonate with audiences. My goal is to bring unique and

compelling narratives to life through the lens of the

camera.

 

My journey into filmmaking began with a simple decision:

picking up a camera one day and discovering a deep love

for the art of visual storytelling. Initially, I started by

filming my own paranormal investigations, driven by a

fascination with the unknown and a desire to share

those eerie experiences with others. Through self-teaching

via YouTube tutorials and online resources, I honed my skills

and began to explore the diverse possibilities within

filmmaking.

 

As I developed my craft, I sought out various opportunities to fund and support my primary project—my paranormal TV show. I took on a range of roles, filming music videos and commercials for clients, which allowed me to gain valuable experience and grow my creative abilities. My hard work and dedication paid off when my paranormal show was picked up by a small network, marking a significant achievement in my career and a testament to the passion and perseverance I had invested in my work.

 

This experience was also a transformative moment for me. The success of my show ignited a new passion and led me to reflect on my career path. Recognizing the opportunity for growth and innovation in the field of filmmaking, I decided to enroll in film school to further my education and explore new creative avenues.

 

Now, as a film student, I’m focusing on experimental projects that push the boundaries of traditional filmmaking. I am excited to explore unconventional storytelling techniques and creative experimentation, with a keen interest in developing films that offer fresh, unexpected experiences for viewers. My work revolves around breaking away from conventional methods to create innovative and engaging projects that challenge norms and provoke thought.
